A recent development is the establishment of regions within the ILA. The purpose of regions is to allow members to get together with less travel time and money. While not replacing the annual ILA convention, members of regions may decide for themselves what activities would be most helpful to them.

Europe and Africa - Magarete Imhof

Asia, South Pacific, and Australia - C. R. Varadaraj

America West - Rob Carriaga, assisted by Jodie Miranda and Tesa Lane. This region contains Alberta and British Columbia in Canada, all U.S. states west of and including Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, and Central America.

North America Midwest - Donna Renaud. This region includes Manitoba and Ontario in Canada and the U.S. states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky.

North America East - Michael Murphy. This region includes all New England states, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia.

America Southeast - Linda Diamond. his region includes Bahamas, Jamaica, West Indies, and U.S. states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
