Listening Education Submission Guidelines

Listening Education and Training

We welcome articles from all those interested in Listening Education and Training. Everyone (ILA member or not) is welcome to submit articles for inclusion in the ILA Listening Education Journal.

We aim to include a wide variety of approaches and methodologies available to those in listening education and training. Have you tried something new? Are you struggling with issues that others may have ideas about? Are you frustrated with aspects of your work? ILA members in 25 countries will be glad to work with you, connect with you, encourage you in the valuable work you are doing. If you have something different to say, you are especially welcome to submit an article.

You can view some past articles here: table of contents.

The following guidelines are provided to assist you and include some technical details. Please contact us if you need further information.

Submission of an article implies that you own the copyright for the work and that it is your own creative work. Compliance with the instructions will ensure full searchability of your paper. Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to sign a Publishing Agreement. The agreement will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information. An e-mail will be sent to the author confirming receipt of the manuscript together with an 'Online Publishing Agreement'. The rights for further publication remain with the author(s). Subscribers may reproduce the papers for their own personal use. Permission of the author is required for distribution outside the ILA and for all other derivative works, including compilations and translations.

Authors' Rights
As an author you retain the full rights to your paper. The electronic files ensure that your copyright is printed throughout the paper.

Ethical Approval
The Editor trusts that the authors follow the guidelines on Ethics in Publishing, in particular in terms of acknowledging the rights of any third party by reference listings. You are also requested to identify who provided financial support for the conduct of the research and/or preparation of the article, and, briefly, to describe the role of the sponsor(s).

All authors must have materially participated in the research and/or article preparation. The statement that all authors have approved the final article and that all authors are aware of the online publication should be true.

Preparation of the Manuscript General Points

Please keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. In particular, do not use the options to justify text or to hyphenate words. However, do use bold face, italics, subscripts, superscripts etc. The text should be prepared in APA format. Use an informative title for your paper and provide a maximum of 6 keywords which are used for indexing purposes. Insert all figures, figure captions and tables within the text at the appropriate location. Define abbreviations that are not standard in this field at their first occurrence in the article and ensure consistency of abbreviations throughout the article. References should be prepared in APA Style (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Fifth Edition, ISBN 1-55798-790-4). Collate acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article.  An abstract is required for publication.

Review Policy
All articles appearing in this online journal are submitted to a blind review process.
