Student Practicum

University students who would benefit from mentorship, conference experience, project design experience and building relationships with fellow students sharing a passion for active listening.

The student Practicum gives access to :

  • Mentorship and workshops with ILA members across professions

  • Interactive workshops and projects to apply and hone listening skills

  • Convention presentation experience with presentation coaching

  • Opportunities for scholarship funding

  • Matched with 1 or more ILA tracks (education, healthcare, spirituality, business, DEI)

  • Letters of achievement and recommendation upon successful completion of the program

  • Relationship building with listening practitioners around the world

  • Design thinking experience and opportunity to craft a listening change project

  • Incentives to stay engaged in ILA long after the end of the practicum

Certified Listening Leader Program (CLL)

As part of its mission to advance listening worldwide the ILA offers a Certified Listening Leader credential to recognize people who advance listening through their leadership, knowledge, and work through:

  • impact on the field of listening

  • continuous commitment to listening through practice, training, education, research, and/or other pursuits.

  • high level listening knowledge and expertise

Since 1979, the International Listening Association (ILA) has been a global community, supporting those who advance listening in education, business, healthcare, hospitality, spirituality, music, and other fields.

 The ILA promotes the study and practice of listening, information exchange, research, by providing a dialogue space, a resource network, a news source, and a worldwide community.
